This town has rarely witnessed the excitement at a town meeting that has prevailed to-day on the subject of license or no license in the election of excise commissioners. The worst storm of the season prevailed during the entire day, accompanied by thunder and lightning. The temperance people were victorious ater a gallant struggle in behalf of their cause. It was a square stand up fight on both sides and every inch of ground was contested. Reulien Whiteman, George C.

The assembly had bardly recovered from the confusion of the midnight session when it came together this morning and at once resumed its discussion of the Adriandack park bill where it left off last night.

The pending question was on Mr. Erwin's motion to refer the bill back to the committee on public lands and to postpone the matter indefinitely. The roll waj called on this motion and a large number of the members explained their votes. The motion was lost. Then there followed a series of mantvuvres.

Mr. Husted had moved to refer to the judiciary committee and various amendments to this were offered in the way of referring to other committees. Finally it was voted to refer the bin to the committee on public lands, the committee which had charge of the bill originally. This committee wUl give a hearing to-utorrow afternoon. It is expected that an entirely new bill will be perfected and reported, cut its nature cannot be known at present.
