Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Trahey, Kate Louise Hale Died peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 30, 2000. Born August 2, 1900. Predeceased by her husband, John C. Trahey.

She leaves nieces and nephews, Andrews B. Hale, William B. Hale, Anne Hale Johnson and Thomas H. Gosnell. In addition, she leaves a number of grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

Mrs. Trahey was educated at the Columbia Preparatory School, the Masters School at Dobbs Ferry and earned the degree Bachelor of Arts in 1925 at the University of Rochester, and the degree Master of Arts in 1927 at Columbia University. She was President of the Boards of Hillside Children's Center, Rochester Garden Club and the Junior League Garden Club and also served as Vice President of the Chatterbox Club. Mrs. Trahey was honored by the Garden Club of America for her work in horticulture.

She was a gifted photographer concentrating through her love of nature on the woods and wild flowers surrounding her home. As an aviatrix, she maintained her pilot's license for a number of years. Mrs. Trahey was the granddaughter of Ezra R. Andrews, co-founder of The Lawyers Co-operative Publishing Company, and daughter of William B.

Hale. She was known to many Rochester institutions for her quiet philanthropy and carried on the family tradition of stewardship at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Hillside Children's Center. Her love for the children at Hillside will be remembered. There will be a Memorial Service at the Colgate Rochester Divinity School Chapel on Wednesday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. For those wishing, donations to the Hillside Children's Center, 1183 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 would be appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
